What is your opinion about using blogs to teach "writing" in EFL classrooms?

I think it is a good idea of using blogs in classrooms because it can help the students to create any story , also internet has good pages where students can help themselves. Also, using a blog students can have opinion and comments about other bloggers. It is a very good idea to practice English.

Do you like working using blogs?
Yes I do. This semester I was working in my first blog, I had to create it alone. At first it was a little difficult and I felt so complicated because of I don’t use neither Fotolog nor Face book . But, on my second or third week I felt better and today I like it very much. Regretfully the semester was ending and those will be my last post...

What are some of the advantages of using blogs ?

I think using blogs you can create and publish whatever you want. Also you can support with internet, download good pictures and you can have followers and make friends. Through the blog I communicated with people that I never had talked so I think it is a good idea to meet people.

What are some of the disadvantages?

I don’t think that using blogs have some disadvantages if you use it in a good way. The only problem that I had was that I did not have connection to internet twice.

Do you plan to use blogs in the future?

I am not frequent to the computer. I only use it for homework and check my mail. But, if in the future I am going to do English class to teenagers I’d like using blog with th

Do you have any suggestions to improve these "lab sessions"? or was everything all right?

Yes I do. I have a suggestion: The lab sessions could be at lest six hours a week...the rest ...it was everything all right.

Thanks Miss Sandra for teaching me how to work using blog. I did not know it but now I learnt...I did not like it but now I like it so much...I don’t know if I improved my writing only I am sure that it was a good subject for me...

This thought made me think the following: human kind live the life in a so fast way that in some cases we don’t think what things are really important. We don’t need to think in what has happened, only you must to remember it for doing changes but for better changes. And about the future...we don’t have to be impatient people, about our future nobody knows, only God and only He knows what is the best for us...

What is the best way to teach writing to children? to teenagers?

I think the best way to teach writing to children is to leave them to create stories, maybe showing a picture and tell them that they have to think in a situation, a story. Another way could be a group of words in a paper and tell them that they have to create a story. I think that they also could work with vocabulary; every word that they don’t know, write it in a book.

In teenagers, I think it could be easier than children because of teacher can suggest any topic, for example “Describing animals” , maybe giving some key words. Also, doing essays and working on blogs.

The best way could be through: letters, blogs and essays.

Why is Writing important for an EFL teacher?

Writing is very important because with writing teachers can practice their English. Also it is a good option if they want to express ideas. If Teachers practice Writing they also could t correct any mistake in any kind of essay.

"THE SUPERHERO BEAR"...the story

Once upon a time, in a little village lived a Bear who was not any Bear, everybody call him "The Superhero Bear". It was because his father had been a real hero, he fought against the bad ones and also defended to the defendeless animals. But, our Bear, about I am talking is so different to his father but, anyone knew that.

Anyone knew that this bear was shy, afraid of height, he did not like fighting even he was afraid of spiders and many other things.

One day, in the little village the animals had a problem with animals from aother village . Everybody had the hope that this Bear'd defend them fighting but, in that moment they realized that this Bear was not so brave, they saw that this Bear only talked and talked and talked...

Next, they started to murmur and they asked him defended them from the other animals.

There were three ants, they were the Bear's best friends and they went to talk with him and in that moment the Bear told them that he only was talking with the enemies because he wanted explain them that to talk is the best way to solve the problems.

In that moment everybody reached an agreement: They decided that they'd share the lake were they swam and they'd fight anymore.

Finally, the Bear told them that he was not as brave as his father was.

He told them that he was shy and he liked solve the problems talking as his mother. The rest of the animals realized that they,being animals also could solve the problems talking.

In that moment everybody became friends...

"The Superhero Bear"

He likes to play with his little friends, they are three ants.

He is afraid of height.

helping other animals, overcoat the littest ones.

Fighting...

When his father defended the littest ones.

To convince other for pardon.

An ant.

What does he want most in the whole world?

That everybody become friends.

"The history of Lisa"

Once, in a little town lived a humble and sweet girl (Lisa) that just wanted to be accepted for people. Later, she went at the city to study and her classmate in the University were very different. In that place, everybody were fashion people, everybody had boy/girlfriend and people there were so joined. Lisa just wanted to make friends.

Aparently, she was not the most beautiful girl in the University also, her clothes were not fashion, her hair was not arranged and moreover she wore ugly glasses...she did not have any style.

One day when they were in class, someone asked something to Lisa and even though she felt ashamed she answered in a intelligent way and everybody stayed open-mouthed.

Suddenly, a classmate brought over her and then another and other...

In this moment they realized that Lisa was a very intelligent girl, so nice, good friend, cheerful, cute, honest and talkative.

Since this day Lisa sarted to talk more and share opinions, books and homework, but she did not want change her style and also they realized that the feelings are the most important for make friends.

I saw and read many articles. They were about war, healthy, politic, etc. but I have always look for something to be related with children so I liked very much this topic: “ IMPORTANCE OF PLAY IN EARLY CHILDHOOD”
I, as a mother knew that playing in children is a common activity but the real importance in early childhood is different and very, very important. Why? Playing is essential for Children also, they need to have funny moments. It’ll develop their skills in every aspects of their lives.

TV AND OUR CHILDREN, WHERE IS THE LIMIT?

INTERVIEWING INTERESTING PEOPLE...

It is interesting interview someone...because, in the most of cases you know someone in a different way but in this interview I could met important aspects of his life and work. ( I am talking about my brother in law).
I noticed that my interviewee opened his heart when he told me about his work out of the country and I learned in this interview that he does not have any limit to help people...

...WHO IS RUBEN RETAMAL AND WHAT DOES HE DO???

Hello everyone: the interview that I did was about my brother in law. His name is Ruben Retamal, he is a Soldier and actually he works in Osorno city. On march, Ruben went to Bosnia for six months. The reason to be there was a mission's work and he returned to Chilito on September 18. So there was when I asked him the following questions:
1. What is your occupation?
I am a Public Employee, specifically I am an Infantry Instructor in the Army of Chile.
2. When and why did you decide to become a Soldier?
On 1993, when I was a volunteer soldier. I decided to be a soldier because I have always liked challenges.
3. Have you ever been in other countries? Wich ones?
Yes I have, twice. In 2004, I was in Haiti for six months and in 2008 I was in Bosnia - Herzegovina for six months too.
4. What aspects of the culture in Haiti made an impact on you?
Maybe, the fact that they still practice Vudu.
5. How was your experience in a different culture?
The experience in Haiti was sad because I saw people in very poor conditions. They did not have any expectations from the future.
6. Would you come back to Haiti?
Yes I would. I think I could help other people again and again.
7. Do you think that your life has changed after Haiti?
Yes I do. Today I love more my family and my country.
8. Why did you decide to go to Bosnia?
Because, I have always needed to help others. I also wanted to live new experiences.
9. What is the most important cultural difference between European and Chilean people?
In few words...the centuries of History.
10. Did you tell me that on your vacations you vivited other countries, wich one did you like the most and why?
France is a nice country, very beautiful and romantic.
